Sheehan Phinney
Jason serves as chair of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group. He advises practitioners and facilities of all types on transactional, compliance, privacy, corporate, contracting, licensing, risk management, fraud and abuse, and patient care issues. Jason assists physicians, dentists, veterinarians, chiropractors, physical therapists, optometrists, and other health care practitioners with professional practice transitions including employment contracts, shareholder buy-ins and buy-outs, and practice sales and acquisitions. He represents dentists, veterinarians, and medical spa owners in transactions with MSOs and represents physician practices in sales to hospital systems. Jason also routinely advises non-profit health care facilities in change of ownership and control matters before the Charitable Trusts Unit of the NH Attorney General’s Office
Jason frequently speaks to industry groups such as the NH Health Care Association, Home Care, Hospice & Palliative Care Alliance of NH, Medical Group Management Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, NH Providers Association, Bi-State Primary Care Association, and Maine Primary Care Association.

Dave represents firm clients in state and federal courts, arbitration and administrative proceedings. He routinely handles trade secret, non-competition, predatory hiring, discrimination, retaliation and whistleblower, wrongful termination, and healthcare related matters. Dave also frequently helps businesses and executives navigate employment separations.
Dave is the immediate past President and Managing Director of the firm. He now serves as the firm’s Associate General Counsel. Dave also served as President of the New Hampshire Bar Association and as a member of the Professional Conduct Committee.
Dave is a certified mediator who serves in that role often for the state and federal courts, the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights, and for private parties. He is one of a small group of New Hampshire mediators recognized as “First Tier” by Chambers USA. In Spring, 2023 Dave completed the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Management.

Cote oversees New Hampshire Magazine, a monthly magazine on interesting people, places and happenings in the Granite state, and NH Business Review, a biweekly publication, covering all business-related news and events in New Hampshire. Additionally, Cote lead the editorial effort at 603 Diversity, a quarterly publication that shares the cultural contributions made by New Hampshire’s diverse communities. Cote also co-hosts the weekly “Down to Business” podcast with Managing Editor Amanda Andrews.
A Manchester, New Hampshire, native, Cote has worked for newspapers and magazines in both Colorado and Florida, such as ColoradoBiz and Naples Daily News. He started as a business and city editor at the New Hampshire Union Leader in July 2012 before being promoted to senior editor in May 2020. Cote also wrote a weekly column in the business section throughout his 11 years at the New Hampshire Union Leader. He received a bachelor’s degree in English and communication from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Colorado Boulder. Cote is also a member of Make-a-Wish New Hampshire’s board of directors.
